Go Cornish Award Achieved!

We are so proud that we have achieved the Go Cornish Bronze Award! We are school number 12 to achieve this in the whole of Cornwall. In attendance during the afternoon were many VIP visitors who toured the school including:

  • Jowdy Davey, Cornish Language Lead
  • Councillor Hillary Frank
  • Cllr. Sarah Preece (Cabinet Member for Tourism, Localism and Planning)
  • Cllr. Jane Pascoe
  • Kayleigh Dring, Chief of Staff for Anna Gelderd MP

Will Coleman, the Director of Go Cornish Project and Nia Robertson the School Project Officer were thrilled to present our award to us in a super assembly. Thank you too to the PTFA who prepared the delicious cream teas with kind donations from Trewithen Dairy and Morrisons.

We will continue our work with the Go Cornish project to give children the opportunity to embrace their own sense of Cornishness, learn a little of the place in which they live and to contribute to the future of our unique language.

Over the last couple of years, we have learnt some songs in Cornish, learnt to speak some Cornish, celebrated Cornish events, listened to Cornish stories, created signs around the school, created cards and more!
