Who are we?
Dobwalls Community Primary School has a governing committee consisting of 10 governors.
The Clerk, Mrs Kate Williams (Kate.Williams@smart-trust.net)
Through their representation of the wider school community (this includes the parents, school staff and other members of that community), governors help their school improve and provide the best possible education for their students.
Mr Alan Johnson
Chair of Governors
Since graduating as a teacher from St Luke's College, Exeter University in 1992 I have gained experience teaching in both the independent and maintained sectors both within the UK and abroad. Alongside my fellow governors I am seeking to be able to 'give back' and support our pupils and the staff at Dobwalls through my own personal professional experience. I am currently Assistant Head for Teaching and Learning at Mount Kelly in Tavistock.
Mrs Kathryn Pipe
I have been part of the Dobwalls community since January 2019. I have over 15 years of experience as a teacher and have taught children from EYFS up to Year 6 over the years. I am the deputy head teacher and SENDCo. I have a passion for education to develop future life skills for all. I love the creative, music and drama aspects and enrichment activities! I believe it is vital to support all children in reaching their potential and meet their individual needs. I grew up locally and it is so lovely to be teaching back in the area I began!
Mrs Claire Ollerenshaw
My name is Claire Ollerenshaw, I have two children at Dobwalls Primary School and am new to the role as a Parent Governor. I am local to the area, having grown up just outside Liskeard, I work within the local area too. I am committed to supporting Dobwalls Primary School in providing our young people with an education of the highest quality. I have worked in education for the past 15 years as a Secondary Mathematics Teacher, more recently within SMART and hope to support the Local Governing Committee with my experience in Teaching & Learning.

Mrs Rebecca Manning

I am new to the role of school governor, but have been educated in the local area, and lived in the surrounding area. I feel passionate how important Primary school years are for pupils and their progression on to secondary school. As Governor, I would like to give back to the community and ensure children and parents have a positive primary school experience.
Mrs Tracey Davey
I have been a parent governor with Dobwalls since September 2019 and have 2 children attending the school. My background is working with children and families within social care, and as such can offer skills and learning around the importance of building emotional resilience in child development and education. I have lived in Liskeard for almost 10 years and am committed to working with the school and local community to build secure and supportive futures for children living there.
Mr Malcolm Maynard
I qualified as a Junior/Secondary teacher at St. Paul’s College Cheltenham and then completed a B. Sc. Degree in Geography with Geology at Birkbeck College, University of London. My connection to Cornwall started in 1969 and I have lived in Cardinham for the past 35 years. I taught in Hertfordshire and then in a large Middle School in Somerset where I was Head of Geography. On moving to Cornwall I worked at Bodmin College as Head of Vocational Education, Head of Geography and for ten years as a Head of Year before retiring. I like to travel and have taken part in many school trips and camps. I know how important a positive start is in education and I hope I can be of some help in ensuring that the pupils at Dobwalls get every opportunity to be successful.
