Who are we?

Dobwalls Community Primary School has a governing committee consisting of 10 governors.

Through their representation of the wider school community (this includes the parents, school staff and other members of that community), governors help their school improve and provide the best possible education for their students.

 

  • Mrs Kathryn Pipe

    Headteacher

    I have been part of the Dobwalls community since January 2019. I have over 15 years of experience as a teacher and have taught children from EYFS up to Year 6 over the years. I am the deputy head teacher and SENDCo. I have a passion for education to develop future life skills for all. I love the creative, music and drama aspects and enrichment activities! I believe it is vital to support all children in reaching their potential and meet their individual needs. I grew up locally and it is so lovely to be teaching back in the area I began!

  • Mrs Becky Hosken

    Governor

    My name is Becky Hosken and I have been a Governor at Dobwalls School since 2017
    joining as we became part of the South East Cornwall Multi Academy Regional Trust
    (SMART).
    Being educated and now working locally I am passionate about supporting the community
    and as a Governor I am able to bring my skills and knowledge as a Human Resources
    Manager to the Local Governing Committee particularly with regard to supporting the
    schools strategic approach to management and long term planning.
    This is a hugely exciting time for the school and I am privileged to be part of the wonderful
    team who make Dobwalls school a great place for students, staff and the wider community.

  • Mrs Claire Ollerenshaw

    Governor

    My name is Claire Ollerenshaw, I have two children at Dobwalls Primary School and am new to the role as a Parent Governor. I am local to the area, having grown up just outside Liskeard, I work within the local area too. I am committed to supporting Dobwalls Primary School in providing our young people with an education of the highest quality. I have worked in education for the past 15 years as a Secondary Mathematics Teacher, more recently within SMART and hope to support the Local Governing Committee with my experience in Teaching & Learning.

  • Mrs Rebecca Manning

    Vice Chair of Governors

    My name is Rebecca Manning I have three sons my eldest attends Dobwalls Primary School and my two younger sons attend the school nursery. I have a background working with the NHS for the past 15 years, specialising in emergencies and business continuity planning. I am new to the role of school governor, but have been educated in the local area, and lived in the surrounding area. I feel passionate how important Primary school years are for pupils and their progression on to secondary school. As Governor, I would like to give back to the community and ensure children and parents have a positive primary school experience.

  • Mrs Berneadette Yeatman

    Governor

    I am Berni Yeatman. I have been a Governor at Dobwalls School for many years and
    have been Chair of Governors for approximately 12 of those. I have three children who all attended Dobwalls School, so was a parent at the school for 17 years. I am very proud of the school and was very pleased to be part of the Team that led the school into becoming part of the South East Cornwall Multi Academy Regional Trust (SMART). I am embracing the changes being made as part of SMART, enjoy working with the Trust Board and other schools within the MAT. I look forward to the future developments.

  • Mrs Tracey Davey

    Governor

    I have been a parent governor with Dobwalls since September 2019 and have 2 children attending the school. My background is working with children and families within social care, and as such can offer skills and learning around the importance of building emotional resilience in child development and education. I have lived in Liskeard for almost 10 years and am committed to working with the school and local community to build secure and supportive futures for children living there.

  • Mr Alan Johnson

    Governor

    Since graduating as a teacher from St Luke's College, Exeter University in 1992 I have gained experience teaching in both the independent and maintained sectors both within the UK and abroad. Alongside my fellow governors I am seeking to be able to 'give back' and support our pupils and the staff at Dobwalls through my own personal professional experience. I am currently Assistant Head for Teaching and Learning at Mount Kelly in Tavistock.
