Fowey Class - Year 1

Fowey Class - Year One
Mrs Orchard and Mrs Tomkinson
with Mrs Brenson
What an exciting year we have in Year One as we embark on our learning with the move from the Early Years!

We will be listening to and reading lots of stories and even writing our own. In maths we like to use lots of resources and apparatus to help us count, add and subtract. Miss McLean and Mrs Orchard love to be creative and musical so plan lots of exciting music, art and DT projects to complete. We also have opportunities to use our imagination in both our indoor and outdoor play.
Please find further details about the learning for the half term and
suggested homework activities below:
Knowledge Organisers
These provide the key knowledge we will be learning in our foundation topics this half term.  It would be useful to look at these with you child and talk about them.  You could have mini quizzes to see what they can remember, draw parts of them or they can create their own version.  This will help the children to ensure they remember the knowledge fully.
On Thursday 21st October, we all took part in a traditional tale day.
Well done fabulous Fowey!
Look at our brilliant home learning based on our story of Cinderella.
Y1 National Statutory Phonics Screening Check
During Year One, Summer second half term, children take part in the statutory phonics check.  This is a statutory assessment which takes place throughout the country.  We will provide you with tips and information throughout the year.  See the document below for further information.
